Füssen is a city in Germany, within the Swabian region, in the federated state of Bavaria. It is located at the foot of the Alps, very close to the Austrian border.
The city is known worldwide for its spectacular castles: Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau found in the mountains outside, and the huge nearby mountain called Tegelberg (1870 m).
It has an interesting old town with sites of interest such as the late Gothic High Palace, the Holy Mang monastery, houses with medieval pediments and idyllic places.
Virtually all winter is covered in a white blanket of snow and even the lakes in that area are frozen.
It is part of the German romantic route.
