Görlitz (in Polish Zgorzelec) is the easternmost city in Germany, and is located in the part of Upper Lusatia located in Lower Silesia (Poland). Görlitz is the sixth city by size of the state of Saxony, after Leipzig, Dresden, Chemnitz, Zwickau and Plauen. When the borders were redefined after the Second World War, the eastern side of the city, much smaller in size, became part of Poland, receiving the name of Zgorzelec.
