Moncada and Reixach (officially and in Catalan Montcada i Reixac) is a municipality in Catalonia, Spain. It belongs to the province of Barcelona, ​​in the Vallés Occidental region. It is part of the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona and borders Barcelona, ​​Sardañola del Vallés, Santa Coloma de Gramanet, Badalona, ​​Ripollet, San Fausto de Campcentellas and La Llagosta.
In the limit of its term with that of San Fausto de Campcentellas is the Iberian site of Las Malesas.
The traditional economy of Moncada and Reixach had always been based on agriculture: vineyards, wheat, potatoes, strawberries and fruit trees. In 1917 there was an important industrialization with the installation of various companies, among which the Asland cement factory stood out.
Moncada and Reixach is established as a key point in Barcelona's rail links, with three railway lines running through that location. The city has five active railway stations (Moncada Fork, Moncada and Reixach-Manresa, Moncada and Reixach-Santa María, Moncada-Ripollet and Moncada and Reixach). Since 2003 there is also a Barcelona Metro station in the municipality, it is Line 11 (light green) with the name of Can Cuyás located in the Santa Elvira-Can Cuyás neighborhood.
