The Bulli

El Bulli was a restaurant in Catalonia (Spain). It was open between 1962 and July 2011, and was known internationally for the gastronomic work developed by Spanish chefs Ferran Adrià and Albert Adrià.
Distinguished with three stars by the Michelin Guide, it was also considered the best restaurant in the world in 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 in the "The S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants" list, prepared by Restaurant magazine.
Located northeast of Catalonia, in Cala Montjoi, in Rosas (Gerona), he won the first Michelin star with Jean-Louis Neichel; In 1981, Juli Soler joined as director and with J. Paul Vinay as chef, he got the second star. After the entry of Ferran Adrià in 1984, the restaurant achieved a third Michelin star in 1997 and a huge international recognition for its innovative cuisine.
The Bulli closed as a restaurant on July 30, 2011, to become the "Bulli Foundation", a foundation dedicated to research in creation and innovation of gastronomic science and which has planned to open towards 2019 with a social component and without profit motive.
