Palamós is a Spanish municipality in the Bajo Ampurdán region, in the province of Girona (Catalonia). Currently, the biggest source of income is tourism. Palamós is famous for its landscapes, beaches, the commercial port and especially the prawn. It is also famous for the amount of scuba enthusiasts that it attracts thanks to its fantastic sunken ship, Boreas, which was a tugboat and icebreaker of the German navy during World War II, being later used for drug trafficking and confiscated by the authorities occupying space in the port of the same town, until the sinking was finally authorized on January 25, 1989.

The lighthouse of Palamós or lighthouse of Punta del Molino is a lighthouse located in the city of Palamós, on the Costa Brava, province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is managed by the port authority of the Port of Barcelona.

The Hospital de Palamós is a basic general regional hospital, which is part of the Public Utilization Hospital Network (Xarxa d'Hospitals d'Utilització Pública, XHUP), a provider of CatSalut services. Its scope of action is the Baix Empordà region .
It was inaugurated in 1986, and a reference population of about 60,000 inhabitants was assigned. It currently has 125,000 inhabitants registered during the winter months, and a mobile or tourist population that reaches 600,000 inhabitants during the summer months .
In 1988 a new building is built, annexed to the hospital, which concludes in the year 2000. This building includes the Palamós Primary Care Center and some hospital services that could be physically externally installed, such as the laboratory, the dialysis unit, ambulatory rehabilitation service, management and administration services, and central non-assistance services.
The Mosén Miquel Costa Foundation, manager of the hospital, is committed to primary care, in an attempt to control amubulatoryization and the disorderly growth of hospital activity. From 1993 onwards, the management of the Basic Health Areas (ABS) of Bajo Ampurdán is gradually incorporated, except that of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, managed by the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS). In this way, we try to control the growth of outpatient consultations and hospital emergencies .
Currently, the Palamós Hospital has a capacity of 100 beds for acute patients, and its manager is Mr. Jordi Calsina y Solé .
