Puerto de la Cruz was the place where tourism began in the Canary Islands. In 1886 the first sanatorium of the archipelago was established in this small port in the La Orotava valley to accommodate sick tourists. It was also the first Spanish resort in Europe.

The lighthouse of Puerto de la Cruz is a lighthouse located west of the port of Puerto de la Cruz, on the north coast of the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands archipelago, Spain. It is one of the seven lighthouses that mark the coast of Tenerife, being between the lighthouse of Punta del Hidalgo and the lighthouse of Buenavista. It is managed by the port authority of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
