Tamariu is an entity of Spanish population or district belonging to the municipality of Palafrugell (It is one of its three beaches), in the region of Bajo Ampurdán, province of Girona, in its coastal area, located in the Costa Brava, in a pronounced bay, flanked by orthose formations to the north, and calcareous rock to the south. The beach consists mainly of coarse-grained sand and gravel of orthose.
It contains three beaches (two of coarse-grained sand and one of stones).
