Cave of the Botijos

The cave of the Botijos, next to the cave of the Zorrera and the cave of the Sahara, constitute the best-known sites of the Neolithic era within the municipality of Benalmádena (Málaga); it opens on the carbonated lands of Serrezuela, a limestone mountain of the Mesozoic era located southwest of the town of Benalmádena Pueblo.
The Botijos cave and the Zorrera cave could be integrated into the same karst system and even constitute the same cave complex.

Cave of the Zorrera

The Zorrera cave (Benalmádena, Málaga, Spain) is located in Serrezuela, 225 meters above sea level, slightly west of the Cave of the Botijos. These caves, together with the Sahara cave, constitute the best studied Neolithic sites in the town.

Sahara Cave

The cave of the Sahara is (next to the cave of the Botijos and the cave of the Zorrera)
one of the best known Neolithic period sites of the municipality of Benalmádena (Málaga, Andalucía, Spain). It is situated on the carbonated lands of La Serrezuela, about two kilometers north of the N-340 route.
