Valladolid
Valladolid is a municipality and a Spanish city located in the northwest quadrant of the Iberian Peninsula, capital of the province of Valladolid and seat of the Cortes and the Junta of the autonomous community of Castilla y León. Account, according to the data of the INE of 2017, with 299,715 inhabitants, being the 13th most populous municipality in Spain and the first of all the Spanish northwest. For its part, the metropolitan area of the city, consisting of 23 municipalities, is the 20th in Spain, with a population of 414,281 inhabitants (INE 2013). It has an area of direct socio-economic influence of more than 600,000 people, only 39 km from Palencia and Other important municipalities.
Although there are indications of settlements belonging to the lower Palaeolithic, and late and Roman deposits, Valladolid did not have a stable population until the repopulation of the Duero basin, when Alfonso VI handed over his valid Pedro Ansúrez his lordship, in 1072. During the Middle Ages it was the seat of the court of Castile being endowed with fairs and Fuero Real and of different institutions like Collegiate Church (elevated to rank of Cathedral in 1595), University, Real Audience and Chancery or House of the Currency.
Carlos I made Valladolid political capital and, later, between 1601 and 1606, it was the capital of the Spanish Empire until this function finally passed to Madrid. From then on, a period of decline begins until the strength of the flour industry and the arrival of the railroad in the mid-19th century, under which the first iron and steel establishments and the circulation of capital appear, giving rise in 1857 to the creation of the Bank of Valladolid In 1854, El Norte de Castilla was founded, dean of the Spanish daily press. After the postwar period, the city underwent an important change, due to the installation of automobile industries and other sectors.
In Valladolid, Saint Ferdinand was proclaimed King of Castile and the Catholic Monarchs were married, born Henry IV, Philip II, Philip IV and Anne of Austria, Queen of France, Magellan signed the capitulations of the world's first circumnavigation and died Columbus. In the Castilian city Cervantes finished writing Don Quixote and also wrote Quevedo. The largest imagery and goldsmiths of the Hispanic Renaissance also established their workshops.
It preserves in its old town a historical complex composed of palaces, noble houses, churches, squares, avenues and parks, along with a museum heritage in which the National Sculpture Museum, the Patio Herreriano Contemporary Art Museum or the Oriental Museum stand out, as well as the house-museums of José Zorrilla, Colón and de Cervantes. Among the events held each year in the city are its Holy Week, Valladolid International Film Week (SEMINCI), the International Indoor Tourism Fair (INTUR), Penguins, the National Skewers and Tapas Contest "City of Valladolid "or the Festival of Theater and Street Arts (TAC).
Its strategic position and communication through a wide network of highways, high speed (AVE), conventional rail, airport, and its logistic node character in the European Atlantic Corridor, will continue to allow its specialization as an industrial hub of Castilla y León.

Church of the Savior (Valladolid)
The Church of the Holy Savior, or simply El Salvador, is a Catholic parish temple located in the Spanish city of Valladolid, capital of the province of its name, community of Castilla y León.
According to tradition, Saint Peter Regalado, patron of Valladolid, was baptized in 1390 in the baptismal font that stores this temple. The chapel dedicated to him inside the church is one of the focal points of veneration of this saint, whose feast is celebrated here every May 13 since the middle of the 18th century.
This parish of the Savior must have been erected in the 12th century, because, although there are ancient historians such as Manuel Canesi dating back to its foundation in 1336, more modern ones such as Matías Sangrador and Juan Agapito and Revilla assure that there are documents that already mention it At the end of the 12th century and in 1208. There is practically nothing left of its original factory, since the current building began to be built at the end of the 15th century.
The highlight of this church is an exceptional Flemish triptych dating back to 1502 that is located in its chapel dedicated to San Juan Bautista, completed in 1492. The Renaissance façade at the foot of the 16th century, with beautiful proportions and good sculptures, also stands out. and a tower of great presence, built during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Church of San Miguel and San Julián (Valladolid)
The Church of San Miguel and San Julián is the temple of the old Prophecy House of the Society of Jesus in the city of Valladolid (Spain). Upon the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1767, by order of Carlos III of Spain, the building was assigned to the parish of San Miguel, San Julián and Santa Basilisa in 1775.
The church, built in the last quarter of the 16th century, is one of the clearest exponents of Jesuit architecture. In the absence of news about the authorship of the traces, the possibility that they were architects of the Company has been considered, something not very credited for the enormous similarities that exist in the church with the Valladolid classicist school, with what their authors would be artists of the Valladolid center, such as Juan de Nates, Juan del Ribero Rada or someone from its orbit. Since the beginning of the seventeenth century, he was patron of the Counts of Fuensaldaña and since 1775, he is a royal patronage.
The church hosts a good collection of altarpieces, sculptures and paintings, several of them by Gregorio Fernández and Diego Valentín Díaz.
