Vecindario is a city in the southeast of Gran Canaria, in the province of Las Palmas, Spain, located in the coastal area of the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, being the 3rd in population of the island and the 5th in the archipelago. Its population centers are Casa Santa, El Doctoral, San Pedro Mártir, La Paredilla, La Cerruda, Hoya Pavón, San Rafael, El Canario, Casa Pastores, La Unión, Sardina Crossing, La Vereda, Los Llanos and Balos (formerly Barriada Yeoward), with an estimated population of 60,000 inhabitants. It is about 35 km from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 15 km from Gran Canaria Airport and another 15 km from Maspalomas, the main tourist area of the island.
Vecindario is the nerve center of the conurbation of the southeast of Gran Canaria, formed mainly by the coastal neighborhoods of the municipalities of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Agüimes and Ingenio, municipalities of the island of Gran Canaria. Other locations of this conurbation, which has about 120,000 inhabitants, are the Arinaga Crossing, Arinaga Beach (Agüimes) and Carrizal (Ingenio).
Agriculture was the main economic activity of Neighborhood until the last quarter of the twentieth century for the production of tomatoes and other vegetables for export, when the service sector (especially trade) became predominant. Currently, Vecindario is the largest open-air urban shopping center on the island of Gran Canaria along with the C.C. Atlántico and others of less relevance such as C.C. Mercacentro, C.C. La Ciel and the C.C. Avenue.

The Municipal Neighborhood Stadium is located in Vecindario in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana (Las Palmas) Spain. It has a capacity of 6,000 spectators and in it he played his Second Division A games, the Neighborhood Sports Union. It was the first artificial grass field of the Professional Football League.
