Villajoyosa Walls
The Walls of Villajoyosa are a walled defensive complex dating from the 16th century located in the Alicante town of Villajoyosa, (Valencian Community, Spain). File was opened for its declaration as a Historic-Artistic Ensemble in 1978, and they were declared of cultural interest with the qualification of Monument in 1985. In its origin, the walls concealed the city with four cube-towers, three of them facing the noon and one to the north, and two towers that flanked the only access door. There was also a west castle. The walled was wired in masonry in its two thirds height.
The remaining remains of the walls are the northwest strip with a bucket-tower in the Plaza de la Generalidad at one end, and another in the Calle del Pal, which is unique for being the largest plant of all and have a gunboat of masonry; remains of foundations are also located and protected in sections other than the city.

Vilamuseu
Vilamuseu, the Municipal Museum of Villajoyosa, (Alicante, Spain), is located on the site of the former Álvaro Esquerdo Public School, an eclectic style building whose facade has been preserved. He was previously in the House of Culture of Villajoyosa, in Barranquet Street, in whose basements it was created in December 1973 by José Payá Nicolau with the help of a group of collaborators. The initial collection consisted mainly of donations of archaeological, ethnographic, paleontological and mineral objects, mostly from Villajoyosa.
It was recognized as a permanent Museographic Collection with the name of Municipal Museum of Archeology and Ethnography by the Generalitat Valenciana on April 4, 1995, with the incorporation of the current director. It was recognized as a Museum on September 9, 1996.
In 2010 the facilities for cataloging and packaging work were closed to the public for the transfer to the new headquarters. The new museum, with the name of Vilamuseu, Municipal Museum of Villajoyosa, opened its doors to the public in November 2016. It is a large equipment of a total of 4500 m2 built mainly with funds from the Trust Plan of the Generalitat Valenciana.
Vilamuseu is, in addition to the city's new museum, the headquarters of the Municipal Network of Museums and Monuments of Villajoyosa. The museum's building, museology and public services have been integrally designed according to universal design principles, attending to physical, organic, sensory and mental disabilities.
The museum has an exceptional collection of local funds. Among the great landmarks are Phoenician, Punic and Greek objects from the necropolis of Poble Nou and Cassettes, among which we can highlight the Phoenician-Punic gold jewelry, the Etruscan bronze strainer, the attic vessels of black figures, the collection of Egyptian amulets or the Egyptian New Year's canteen; the collection of Iberian ceramics painted with a Villajoyosa style, among which the so-called Vaso del threshold del beyond stands out, an exceptional piece in the Iberian world, whose decoration chronicles the Iberian concept of the journey of the soul to the beyond; pieces from the Roman municipium and its territory, such as the commemorative inscription of the reconstruction of a macellum (municipal meat market) in the s. II d. C. or the figurative mosaics of the monumental town of Xauxelles (s. III d. C.); the shipment of the Roman wreck Bou-Ferrer, the largest ancient ship in the process of excavation in the Mediterranean, declared of cultural interest, among which the large lead ingots with the IMP (erator) AVG (ustus) GER (manicus) inscription stand out ), probably referred to Emperor Nero; or the materials of the farmhouses, rural mosque and Islamic cemetery of l’Armiserà; in addition to the important collection of funds from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Vilamuseu also manages the Barbera dels Aragonés House Museum (16th-19th century), with an interesting collection of romantic period furniture objects perfectly contextualized in the original spaces of the house, among which the clothing of the late s. XVIII at the beginning of the s. XX.
