Lille (in French, Lille [lil]; in Flemish, Rysel; in Dutch, Rijsel), also known as Lila in Spanish, [citation needed] is a city in northern France, on the banks of the River Deûle, capital of the region from Upper France. It is located near the border with Belgium.
Lille has a municipal population of 231 491 inhabitants, and its metropolitan area, which includes cities such as Villeneuve-d'Ascq, Roubaix and Tourcoing, has a population of 1,144,716 inhabitants, being the fourth largest from France
Located between Paris, London and Brussels, Lille is a great European economic plaza, which developed a lot since the 1990s, especially with the construction of the Euralille business district and the arrival of the High Speed Trains and the Eurostar.
