West pier

The West Pier is one of two current piers in Brighton (Sussex). It was built by Eugenius Birch in 1866, but it was closed since 1975 and has been deteriorating since then. The pier is waiting for a renovation, which has not yet taken place for financial reasons. It is the second Brighton pier; The first was The Royal Suspension Chain Pier, built in 1823, which was dismantled after a storm in 1896.
