newMaxims Casino
The Maxims Casino (in English: Maxims Casino; also known as Genting Club Westcliff) is a gaming establishment located on the Western Esplanade, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, England, on the seafront overlooking the estuary of the Thames. The original "Westcliff" and "Waterfront" Casino were established in the 1970s and were originally in Mill House on Station Road. A former outdoor pool and then a boat deck as part of The Westcliff Leisure Center opened in its current location, in 1987 it became the largest and second largest provincial casino in Britain. The casino was first built by Brent Walker, and then by RJ Bown Holdings. It was bought by Genting from the UK for an estimated £ 30 million.
In November 2007, the two sister casinos, "Spielers'" and "Westcliff", were reformed by Genting Stanley to create clubs called Southend Mint and Southend Maxims respectively. More recently, in 2012, the casino underwent a new multi-million dollar reform and was renamed Genting Club of Westcliff.
