The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world. It is located in the town of St Andrews, in the county of Fife in Scotland, and is known as "The cradle of golf." Until a few years ago, it was also considered as one of the governing authorities of this sport, but in 2004 this role became the recently created The R&A.

The University of St. Andrews is a public university located in the small town of St Andrews, in the county of Fife, Scotland. It is the oldest university in Scotland and one of the oldest in the United Kingdom. It was founded in the 15th century, between 1410 and 1413, and today it is still one of the most prestigious universities in the country, positioning itself behind the Oxbridge universities.
The university is relatively small, with a population between employees and students of about 9000. The university is closely integrated with the city of St. Andrews. It is divided into four faculties of Arts, Theology, Science and Medicine.
While most of the research at St. Andrews occurs within academic schools, a number of centers and institutes address broader projects such as those found at the Center for Ethics, Philosophy and Public Affairs.

In it is the Cathedral of St. Andrews, currently demolished (which in its time was the largest in Scotland), a castle, also demolished, and one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United Kingdom. In addition, St. Andrews is considered "the cradle of golf", since it is the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews - the oldest golf club in the world - and the Old Course of St Andrews, also one of the oldest fields.

The Chapel of San Salvador (in English St Salvator's Chapel) is one of the two chapels that belong to the University of St. Andrews; the other is the Chapel of San Leonardo. Founded in 1450, it was built in late Gothic style, being renovated in the years 1680, 1860 and later in the twentieth century.
The chapel fulfills its religious service -particularly on Sundays-, but it also functions as an auditorium where graduation ceremonies are held, among others. It has its own choir and organ.

The Cathedral of St. Andrews was, at the time, the largest in all of Scotland and, although today only its ruins remain, it can be deduced by its grandeur the enormous strength that it should have had during its time of greatest splendor.
