Swansea Market (in Welsh: Marchnad Abertawe; in English: Swansea Market) is located in the heart of downtown Swansea. It is the largest covered market in Wales, United Kingdom. The market is covered by an arched portico steel roof clad in steel and glass. The current market was built in 1959-1960 by Percy Edwards.
The current building is the third one located on the same site since 1830. The previous building, opened in 1897, was once the building with the roof of the largest structure of glass and wrought iron in the United Kingdom, with two acres, and It reached 670 seats in the 1920s. It was destroyed during the bombings of World War II.
