Bari (Bare IPA: ['ba: rə] in the Barese dialect, Vare IPA: [' bε: rə] in the old Barese dialect) is a city in Italy, capital of the homonymous metropolitan city and the Apulia region. It is the third main city of southern Italy after Naples and Palermo. It is located on the Adriatic coast and its province (metropolitan city since 1/1/2015) is the fifth largest in the country. It has 327,361 inhabitants (12-31-2014), 750,000 in the urban area and 1,266,000 in the metropolitan area. It borders the communes Adelfia, Bitonto, Bitritto, Capurso, Giovinazzo, Modugno, Mola di Bari, Noicattaro, Triggiano and Valenzano.

The University of Bari (in Italian: Università Degli Studi Di Bari Aldo Moro) is a university located in the city of Bari, Italy. It was founded in 1925 and is organized in 15 faculties.
The University was inaugurated by Benito Mussolini and until 1943 he bore his name. On May 9, 2008, 30th anniversary of the murder of Aldo Moro, who studied at Bari and was a professor of Criminal Law at the University, it was decided to give him his name.
