Scheveningen Kurhaus
The Kurhaus of Scheveningen is a first class hotel and casino now called the Steigenberger Kurhaus Hotel. It is located in the main spa area, near the beach.
The Kurhaus was built between 1884 and 1885 by German architects Johann Friedrich and Friedrich Ebert Henkenhaf. It originally consisted of a concert hall and a hotel with 120 rooms. After the serious damage suffered by the fire of a fire, it was rebuilt between 1886 and 1887.
After falling into disrepair and closing in 1969, the Kurhaus was saved from demolition in 1975 by being listed as a historic building, and being completely renovated. It was reopened in 1979 with the presence of the then Princess Beatrice.
