Frost Bank Tower
The Frost Bank Tower is a skyscraper located in Austin, Texas, United States. With 157 meters high and 33 floors, it is the third tallest building in Austin, behind The Austonian and 360 Condominiums. It was built by Cousins Properties between November 2001 and December 2003 and contains 48,800 m² of rental offices. It was the first skyscraper built in the United States after the attacks of September 11, 2001, and was officially opened in January 2004.
The Frost Bank Tower was designed by Duda / Paine Architects, LLP and HKS, Inc. It has the highest logo in the city, 128 m. This logo is from the San Antonio Frost National Bank, whose Austin-based and insurance division is in the building. Apart from Frost Bank, it contains the offices in Austin of Morgan Stanley and Ernst & Young, as well as the headquarters of the University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO), administrators of the Permanent University Fund.
Cousins sold the building in 2006 to Equity Office Properties Trust for $ 188 million before this company sold it to Thomas Properties that same year. In 2013 the ownership of the property was transferred to Parkway Properties.
