Chicago, colloquially known as "the Second City" or "the City of the Winds," is the third city with the largest number of inhabitants in the United States, behind New York and Los Angeles.
Chicago is located in the state of Illinois, along the southwest coast of Lake Michigan, and is the seat of Cook County. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area, a conurbation also made up of peripheral counties.

The Art Institute of Chicago is a museum and art school located on Michigan Avenue next to Grant Park, across from Lake Michigan in Chicago. It is one of the most important art museums in the world and is surely among the top three in the United States, along with the Metropolitan Museum of New York and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and has one of the most important permanent collections of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism paintings of the world.
It was founded in 1879 and George Armor was its first president. In 1893 the museum was moved to a Renaissance-style building designed by the architecture studio of Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge, in Boston. The building had been built for the World Columbian Exposition, held that same year. The museum's collection is due in part to donations made by wealthy people as a gift to the city of Chicago.
The most significant collections are those of Italian, Flemish, Dutch and Spanish painting. Some famous painters represented are El Greco, José de Ribera, Rembrandt and Frans Hals.

The Aon Center (200 East Randolph Street, formerly Amoco Building) is a skyscraper located in the Chicago Loop, Chicago, Illinois, United States, designed by the architectural firms Edward Durell Stone and Perkins and Will, and completed in 1973 as the Standard Oil Building. With 83 floors and 346 m high, it is the third tallest building in Chicago, behind the Willis Tower and the Trump International Hotel and Tower. The building is managed by Jones Lang LaSalle, who is also based in the building. The Aon Center was formerly the headquarters of Aon and Amoco; Aon's United States operations are still based in this building. The Aon Center is almost identical in design and plant to the First Canadian Place in Toronto, Canada; The only important difference is the orientation of the windows, vertical in Aon Center and horizontal in First Canadian Place.
