Mijas

Mijas is an Andalusian municipality in the province of Málaga (Spain). It is located on the Costa del Sol, 30 km southwest of the provincial capital, and integrated into the region of the Costa del Sol Occidental, the commonwealth of municipalities of the same name and the judicial party of Fuengirola. According to the 2018 INE census, Mijas has 80 630 inhabitants, which makes it the fourth municipality in the province in terms of population. This is concentrated in three main urban centers: Mijas Pueblo, located on the slope of the Mijas mountain range, constitutes the historic center of the municipality; Las Lagunas, located in the area called Mijas Costa, is part of the urban continuum of the city of Fuengirola; and La Cala, a coastal town. The surface of the municipal term is 148 km² and extends from the coastal mountains of the Penibética to the Mediterranean Sea.

Church of the Immaculate Conception (Mijas)
