Šibenik
Šibenik is a city in Croatia. It is located in the central area of Dalmatia, in modern Croatia, next to the mouth of the Krka river on the Adriatic coast. It has a population of 51,553 inhabitants (2001) and is the political, educational, transport, industrial and tourist center of the region called Šibenik-Knin.
The predominant ethnic group is Croatian, which constitutes 94% of the population (2001 census).

Santiago Cathedral (Šibenik)
The Cathedral of Santiago (Katedrala sv. Jakova) is a Catholic temple in Šibenik, Croatia is the main temple of the homonymous bishopric.
The church building began in 1402, although construction plans had already begun in 1298, when Šibenik became a municipality. The actual work to transform the oldest Romanesque cathedral began in 1431. Built entirely of limestone from a nearby quarry and marble from the island of Brac, which was completed in three phases, from 1433 to 1441, when the Great City Council entrusted the work to the Italian masters Francesco di Giacomo, Lorenzo Pincino, Pier Paolo Bussato, Bonino da Milano and Giorgio da Sebenico (Juraj Dalmatinac), and the Croatians Andrija Budčić and Grubiš Šlafčić.
It has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.
