Vejer de la Frontera is a Spanish municipality located in the province of Cádiz (Andalusia). The nucleus of the town stands on a hill 200 meters high, on the banks of the Barbate River and 8 kilometers away from the coast. The municipal term includes a stretch of coast of the Atlantic Ocean, where the Palmar de Vejer, a small rural nucleus that stands out for tourism, sits. The economy of the municipality depends on agriculture and summer tourism on a small scale. The phrase "de la Frontera" refers to the Granada border.
Its walled historic center, which still preserves the castle and several significant churches, was declared a historical-artistic complex in 1976. Vejer is part of what is known as 'Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain'. [2 ]

It is worth mentioning that of the Cadiz municipalities that make up the Bay of Algeciras; Algeciras, Los Barrios, San Roque and La Linea de la Concepcion, have their coastline on the Costa del Sol.
