Selva de Mar (officially and in Catalan La Selva de Mar) is a Spanish municipality in the Alto Ampurdán region in the province of Girona, Catalonia.
It is located inside the peninsula formed by the Cape of Creus. By its term it crosses the stream of the Forest that will end at the sea, after passing through the middle of the population.
Its economy is the cultivation of vineyards and olive trees, as well as construction and tourism. Its marine neighborhood was Puerto de la Selva, until 1787 when it was emancipated by decree of King Carlos III.
Selva de Mar has buildings of popular type built with slate of the area, with small bridges that serve to cross the river, an old public laundry and it is easy to see in some of its walls remains from plundering made in the monastery of San Pedro de Stem.
